Pema Horeau

I am Pema, a French and Tibetan first year student. After a year in university Montaigne in Bordeaux (France) in design of applied arts, I transferred to Goldsmiths, University of London. I am interested in graphic design and programming and I want to combine these subjects to create a new kind of art-form.

I am strongly inspired by different forms of illustration, mainly architectural and portraiture. I have explored these interests through Photoshop, in which I create montages and illustrations. I also have an interest in poster and logo art, and have created these for events which have been used by University of Pantheon-Sorbonne.

My exhibition piece will be investigating ‘special characters’ such as ({}@€~|[]<>/&^ %$£!*), etc. We use letters and characters as tool for communication, so why not also use them as a medium for art? Inspired by the work of John Whitney, I will be creating a series of generative drawings in Processing.js.
